This week’s #MusicMonday selection is a playlist of Caravan’s album Kon Gap Kwai (āļ„āļ™āļāļąāļšāļ„āļ§āļēāļĒ, Man/Person and Buffalo).

Caravan is one of the most influential groups in Thailand’s history, creating a genre of folk-rock music known as phleng phuea chiwit (āđ€āļžāļĨāļ‡āđ€āļžāļ·āđˆāļāļŠāļĩāļ§āļīāļ•, “songs for life”). The band formed at Ramkamhaeng University in the early 1970’s amidst a growing student movement. In 1976, the group was forced into exile; however, the group remained extremely popular and returned to Thailand after being granted amnesty in 1979. Take a listen!
