Gretchen Evans, 136 YinD
Farewell Group 133, 134, and 135 Volunteers. I was not able to meet everyone in person, but I am so fortunate to have read and received wisdom from so many of y’all!
You have spent two years dedicating your time, money, and energy to your communities. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed and the time to ring the gong is finally here! Yay!
Particularly, I want to shout out and dedicate my farewell to Emily.
มะลิ,
My experience, my year, and my site would not be the same without you. You will be so deeply missed and I am glad we live in the digital age because I know you’re only one phone call away…
From our philosophical lunches at ๑๑๑ to our coffee breaks at Ban Bua, I am so thankful for our friendship, fun times together, and failed attempts at pancakes. What a blessing it is to have someone who fully understands my experience (and vice versa) in Mukdahan. A blessing to have someone willing to join my biking shenanigans, no matter how far. A blessing to have my very own WAG, 555!!

We have witnessed the duality of Dodo and found comfort in Cardi B and Meg jam sessions. We humiliated ourselves, karaoke style and got creative with opening wine bottles. Most of all, we have come together and have been listening ears for when times get tough.
We knew this day was coming, and of course I am sad to see you go. But I am equally as excited for what is to come! 2026 is your year. :)
Best of luck to my PCV bestie and I am looking forward to a lifetime of laughs, support, and vent sessions. Can’t wait to see each other again in stylish clothes instead of our pantaloons.
All my love,
จีน่า!
